Weir’s Furniture Center was established in 1945 by Ken Weir.  Arriving home from World War II, Ken borrowed $300.00 to buy a pickup truck to do delivery, haul garbage and whatever else to pay back the loan.

Later he started moving furniture in town and decided to join North American Van Lines to move furniture across the nation.

A fire in October of 1981 at the downtown Arlington Street location completely destroyed the building housing Weir’s Furniture Center.  Weir’s Furniture Center then moved to  the current location at 605 Ridge where you can find many available services.
